迎接2008年，南加州31日晚將有豐富多彩的跨年活動。看花車的人們要提早前往巴沙迪那科羅拉多大道，其他比較大的跨年活動，還包括環球影城步行街（Universal
City Walk)、洛市市中心萬人倒數計時等，橙縣的「大橘子」也將在除夕夜掉落與民同慶。
雖然沒有紐約時代廣場的倒數計時傳統悠久，除夕環球影城步行街狂歡跨年慶祝也漸風行，因有洛城最眩的霓虹燈和現場流行音樂演唱會，深受年輕人喜愛。
步行街中央的超大銀幕，將現場播出紐約時代廣場的倒數計時盛況。因時差問題，紐約新年的鐘聲敲響後，南加州人的新年派對才剛開始。今年除了噴撒紙花外，還將有美麗的禮花增添喜慶氣氛。
另一處焰火在迪士尼樂園，除夕夜將開放至凌晨2時，園內晚間9時25分開始在城堡前焰火表演，可愛的米老鼠、白雪公主將陪民眾一同跨年。
橙縣除夕夜慶祝活動首推位於「橙縣博覽會」（Orange County Fair & Exposition
Center）的除夕晚會，一連串精采樂隊、遊樂活動外，午夜12時也將有傳統的「大橘子掉下來」與焰火施放。詳情可上網www.ocnye.com查詢。
長堤的瑪麗皇后號遊輪也是跨年好去處，今年將特別推出巴西風格狂歡派隊，美食、酒水和舞蹈均帶有濃厚巴西風情。
另一大型露天狂歡則是歷史悠久的洛杉磯市中心Giant
Maximus萬人大派對，其特色是在金融街摩天大樓之間的屋頂舉行，頗具現代都市氣息。
除了露天聚會外，除夕夜的酒店、酒吧、俱樂部是青年男女跨年最佳去處，
位於好萊塢中國戲院對面的「文藝復興好萊塢酒店」（The Renaissance
Hollywood），年年聚集數千人潮。該酒店除夕夜8時進場，提供豐富自助餐，民眾還可跳舞。現場另有爵士樂演出與精采的雜耍特技表演，門票為125元。其他室內活動，可上網查詢，http://www.clubzone.com/nye。

What is the Orange County New Year’s Eve (OCNYE)? The concept for the event was born out of need, the need for something to do on New Year’s Eve in Southern California. How many times have you heard people say they went to Las Vegas for the clubs, New York for the ball drop or LA for a live music event? If you are a resident of Orange County, then those are three things you have heard repeatedly as they have been our only options. Well, that, the typical dinner and night out around town or house party.
What if we took all a little of all of the above and we rolled it into one? What if we created a NYE themed event that incorporated nightclubs, live music, attractions, great food and we dropped an Orange Ball in Orange County?
It would surprise you to know that this idea has been on the drawing board for 10 year’s and finally in 2005 that idea was brought to life with the 1st ever Orange County New Year’s Eve at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, California. The event was an instant hit and was proclaimed by the County Board of Supervisors as the Official New Year’s Eve Celebration of Orange County.
While our motto is that bigger is definitely better with the OCNYE this year, our motto when it comes to your pocket is that less is definitely more. We have slashed ticket prices by almost ½ of year’s past and most other notable events in the market in order to make the Orange County New Year’s Eve the biggest bang for your buck anywhere on New Year’s Eve.
So… get your friends and family together and come out and enjoy an unforgettable evening and one like you have never seen on New Year’s Eve before.
